Connecting Communities: The Role of Health Informatics in Improving Health and Health Care

Dr. John Lumpkin will discuss the implications of the current crisis in the health care system due to high costs and poor quality. It further identifies the disparities that exist in cost and quality based on where individual lives as well race and ethnicity. Health Informatics provides a vehicle for addressing many of these problems as part of a transformation of the health care system moving towards high quality, effective, efficient and reasonable cost patient-centered care.
