Grant Writing Workshop: Gaining Funding for Telecommunications-Related Projects

Location: Public Affairs Center, University of Illinois at Springfield

Most health and human service providers, community developers, educators, and telecommunications professionals are not professional grant writers. This half-day workshop is designed to give participants information about and experience with grant applications and seeking funding.

Participants will:
• gain tips for crafting the major sections of a grant proposal
• learn about funders’ requirements for grant proposals and submission
• act as reviewers of sample proposal excerpts
• consider how they can use grants to address their own organizational and project needs
• identify general funding search strategies and organizations that provide grant funding
• share their ideas and experiences about collaborating on grant writing and projects
