Debbie Clinebell

Debbie Clinebell is a veteran science teacher who embraces emerging technology to create global learning opportunities for students in a rural school setting. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Illinois and a Masters Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Her thesis explored, Educational Issues of Integrating the Emerging Technology Known as the PIG (personal interface to the Grid) in a Rural Junior High School Science Classroom: Obstacles and Opportunities. Her pioneering work with the Access Grid in a K-12 setting has resulted in invitations to speak (via the AG) at the National Science Teachers Association and SC (Supercomputing) Global.

Debbie recently returned from Washington, DC where she presented results of a Community Residential Radon project conducted by her students. The school project earned recognition by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the National Environmental Health Association. Success of the project was facilitated by use of the AG. Debbie partners with Harrisonville Telephone Company in Waterloo for AG connectivity.
