Mary Catherine Ring is applications manager for the Illinois Health Network, a project of the Illinois Hospital Association. Prior to joining the IHA in March 2005, Ms. Ring retired from the Illinois Department of Public Health where she was director of the Center for Rural Health for many years. During her tenure at the Center for Rural Health, Ms. Ring was responsible for the development of the telehealth capabilities among small rural hospitals in Illinois. Among her responsibilities with the Illinois Health Network is the recruitment of users of the Web-based solution for the secure exchange of protected health and business information.
