Robin
Orr, PhD
Robin Orr coordinates EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Program) and FNP (Family Nutrition Program) for University of Illinois Extension, and is the state contact for Team Nutrition, Food Security, and obesity with USDA. These educational programs emphasize the importance of understanding diversity regarding culture, language and personality to build on individual strengths. Robin represents University of Illinois Extension on the Interagency Nutrition Council and serves on the Arthritis Board, the Cardiovascular Health Board, and the State Steering Committee on Obesity. Robin was recently elected Vice President for the Society for Nutrition Education and named to the Discovery Advisory Board. Robin coordinates the statewide Welfare Task Force in Extension and serves on the State Food Policy Council and is Past President of the Association of Leadership Educators. Robin designs programs using better ways to reach adults with different learning styles, including personality awareness, attitude and motivational training, leadership workshops, and a host of management programs. Robin has a Ph.D. in Nutrition, Marketing, and Gerontology from Iowa State University; an M.S. in Nutrition from Iowa State University; and a B.S. in Zoology and Biochemistry from the University of Michigan. |
