Young Leaders . . . What’s the Thrill of Leadership?
Brandon Bowersox, Candidate, Urbana City Council
Laura Huth, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Champaign and Piatt Counties
Brandon Leindl, 2nd Ward Alderman, Macomb City Council
Representative Aaron Schock, 92nd District, Illinois General Assembly
Moderated by Roger Larson, University of Illinois Extension

The thrill of leadership comes from seeing long-term, significant change and improvement in our communities. We bring to you four case studies of relatively young people in formal positions of leadership. Each has served locally in city or school district government; each found his or her way to a position requiring increased leadership. During this panel discussion, our young leaders will describe the community support and environment which enabled them to serve; the motivation for holding elected office and increasing levels of responsibility; and how we, as community members, can foster the participation and development of capable young leaders in our communities.
