Finding a fresh perspective on your community

Community Swap Evaluation

Community Swap Team Members should complete an evaluation questionnaire immediately after the Town Meeting, and give it to the Extension Unit Leader that evening. See the Appendix for "Evaluating the Community Swap Process." This evaluation instrument asks for feedback regarding team preparation, the Assessment Guide, and the information available for planning and reporting. As you continue to organize Community Swap programs, this information will guide any improvements or adjustments to make in the program design.

It may be useful for community leaders or members of a sponsoring group - for example, the town council or Chamber of Commerce - to complete an evaluation of the Community Swap Program. The Appendix includes a sample evaluation questionnaire, "Evaluating Community Swap Outcomes," to help community leaders begin to think about how they might make plans for community projects as a result of what they learned during the Swap. This information will help Extension identify areas for follow-up after the Swap Program has been completed. Extension staff may find this evaluation instrument useful in measuring changes in attitudes or behavior regarding community development generally, or in measuring progress on particular projects.
