Finding a fresh perspective on your community

Community Swap Reunion

If the Extension Unit Leader decides to organize a reunion or roundtable discussion, he/she may need input from the team members to schedule the event and decide on the format and content. What day of the week and time of day should it be? Should there be a keynote speaker and who might that be? Should many swap community partners be invited, or only two at a time? Do members want a formal presentation, or a chance to share and network informally? Will there be a fee for food and facilities? If the group wishes to involve only a few people in a roundtable discussion, will a summary of that discussion be shared widely?

A reunion or roundtable may take many forms, from formal to informal. The planning committee should consider the swap teams' desires to share the results of their participation in a swap. Reunions and roundtable discussions held thus far have been very positive and enthusiastic. This meeting often enables community leaders to find ways to work with other communities in their region, and to gather ideas for subsequent projects.
